End of the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Program

December 18, 2023

NCT&I would like to thank the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the NZ Consulate in New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis & Futuna for enabling Cécile CHAMBOREDON, NCT&I Director, to take part in this training course.

It was an extraordinary experience for NCT&I to be able to discuss international trade issues with representatives from 7 Pacific countries.

Negotiation of multilateral, regional and bilateral agreements, the historical evolution of the WTO's prerogatives and powers, the place of the private sector and its representatives in the construction and negotiation of agreements by the institutions of each country, the place of "small countries" in international relations between the behemoths of world trade... A rich learning experience, in which the real issues facing us today in the Indo-Pacific revolve around worker mobility, and the quality and availability of services of all kinds.
